The server was friendly and attentive freshening up our drinks without being asked. The food prep and delivery was swift and lightening fast. This did not take away from the quality of the food whatsoever. I found the ramen noodles to be a bit stiff but still good. Would definitely return for the sushi rolls.

So delicious! Origami is absolutely one of my faves. This was my first venture into a restaurant since Covid and it felt really comfortable and safe.

This is the best sushi I've had locally. Everything was fresh and delicious, presentation was a plus! The server was attentive and friendly. Great selection of saki, beer, and wine. It's a little tough to find if you haven't been - it's tucked back behind the theater. Definitely worth searching out for it though - you won't regret it!

Please forgive the quality of my pics. I've eaten authentic Japanese food at home and it doesn't get any better than Origami. I came here on a date thinking I was just going to get a couple things... wrong!! I started with a Hibiki whiskey and coke. The texture is thick and it's strong. Then we had some sashimi and flying fish and salmon roe sushi. The sashimi melts in your mouth, the flavors are soft and buttery. I had to steal my date's sushi rolls, I think one of them is the dragon roll, the other I can't recall. The quality of the fish here is beyond superb than that of any other sushi spot.

Decent little Asian restaurant in the heart of Uptown.The interior layout is dominated by the large horseshoe shaped bar.The service was very attentive and speedy.The menu featured many different sushi options..... I'm not an expert by any means, but it was on the more expensive side.There was some noodles options too (ramen! And it was filling and tasty.Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but if you're in the area it's a nice enough option.

Great food and intersting interior

Food was fresh, delicious, and had excellent flavor. Parking is annoying because it's in Uptown and staff were not crazy friendly or helpful but we were there for a late lunch so might be different for dinner. Except the man behind the sushi bar who was quite attentive and kind. I got hot tea, pot stickers, 2 shrimp tempura rolls, and a scoop of green tea ice cream which totalled about $27. The art and decor inside are beautiful!!

Great happy hour that goes until 6. It included some delicious Japanese inspired cocktails and sushi rolls, along with many other options.Even if you can’t make it for happy hour, their regular prices are good and the food is great!

I'm hoping that the, already good, Uptown Origami steps its game up now that the original Origami closed.The original had the consistently best sushi in the Twin Cities, and this location has been consistently good.

A bit of a splurge, but we keep coming back because it's the best sushi in the area.

I tried caterpillar sushi and it is supper awesome . Other kind of sushi it is fine with those who doesn't like spices or sauce in their sushi. Japanese style sushi.

I visit this place a lot since I work right next to it. I have to say the service is always fantastic and they keep the spot clean all the time. Pricing is convenient and they serve sizeable portions.

Poor customer service to delivery drivers they don't mark that times correctly when pickup is supposed to be and when you get there and you've been there a while they really ignore you to help people that sitting down they will keep you waiting 10 minutes after your pickup time then give you the order and when you ask for a preparation time they completely ignore you and still rather help people that sitting down Don't realizing that we delivery drivers are technically one of their customers when picking up from them

Origami is one of the best sushi restaurants in the twin cities. Highly recommend trying it out! Price-wise it's on the expensive side, but it's definitely worth it!

Sushi was ok, poke and mushroom appetizers were very good, food service was very slow and missed a detail on our order.

Best Japanese restaurant in the Twin Cities I've been to. Great selection of japanese whiskeys, not to mention the sakes. The food is downright amazing. I recommend the katsudon if you're not feeling sushi or fish.

Would recommend their super amazing happy hour! A lovely patio, refreshing sake and the best sushi rolls in town. I have never had a bad experience or bad food here and I have been regularly visiting a few times a year for 5 years.

Went here today for my anniversary and was pleased, as always. I’ve been to many sushi restaurants in the Twin Cities, and worked at one for many years as well. This place has some of the best fish in town, hands down! The service is always great as well. Highly recommend this place. Thanks to our server, Tomo, for a great anniversary dinner experience.

Their patio is open and with the new building next door has the perfect amount of sun in the evening. The same great food and staff as always.

Origami is hands down amazing!!! The food was deliciously delicious and satisfied my hunger in a flavorful and made my day way. I was looking to try something new and different on my birthday and this place nailed it. I had always wanted to try japanese ramen and I got a beef ramen here. Omg, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. The beef was perfectly tinder and the flavor from just taking one bite without the ramen was shocking and when put together amazing!!! The sushi was delicious and spicy like I like it and the gyoza (potstickers)....don't even get me started...deee-lect-able! I ordered the chicken gyoza as I don't eat pork and didn't expect it to be so delicious as I have tried other gyoza with chicken in it and they weren't so great. However their gyoza was juicy and the skin was perfect. I was angry I didn't order more, they went so fast. You've got to come here cause I definitely will be coming back! Just take my money!!! I believe many of these reviews refer to the location that was in Ridgedale shopping mall, as the new Origami in Uptown hasn't been around for that long.Uptown location is great, but is a little hidden as it is not off of the main Hennepin or Lagoon Avenues. It is in the Mozaic "plaza" area in the triangle of Uptown Tavern, the Lagoon Theater and Bar Louie. Great service and great quality. Very nice specials too, as they offer a daily early and late happy hour, including Fridays and Saturdays. All day Happy Hour Sundays and Tuesdays. Definitely my favorite spot in Uptown for the quality and value.

After closing their other 2 locations, this Origami location stepped up its sushi game. The fish is like butter, just melts in your mouth, and that is quality. I much rather prefer this little location than a bigger sushi place like Crave or Seven. Absolutely recommend this amazing restaurant to everyone!
